Chamber Singers Audition Materials

2011

Chamber Singers is a SATB Choral Ensemble made up of students grade nine through grade twelve. The Chamber Singers perform three major concerts a year as well as at various community events, including with the Plymouth Philharmonic at Memorial Hall. The Chamber Singers perform music literature for developing and advanced choirs with a focus on developing healthy vocal technique and life-long musicianship skills.

Audition Materials are enclosed in this packet.  All students must audition with one of the enclosed pieces.  These pieces, Amazing Grace, At the River and Shenandoah, are the only acceptable audition pieces for students auditioning this year. Students should prepare one of the pieces with their lesson teacher.

Rehearsal/practice recordings are available online at www.duxburymusic.net/chorus on the Chamber Singers page.

Students should also be prepared to perform various vocal exercises to demonstrate vocal range. (Soprano, Alto, Tenor or Bass)

Audition dates for High School students will be on Monday March 28th and Wednesday March 30 from 3-5 pm in the Music Technology room (215).  Students can sign up in the Chorus room.

Audition dates for Middle School students will be on Thursday March 31th in the DMS Auditorium. Students can sign up for audition times in the auditorium.
