Duxbury Orchestra Groups

The Duxbury High School Music Department offers opportunities for students to play in two Orchestras. The Concert Orchestra is open to all string players and the String Ensemble which requires an audition for acceptance. Both groups have been featured in Orchestra competitions and have won numerous awards.

The High School Orchestra program also offers a co-curricular group – “Camerata”, this is a select chamber string ensemble, which requires an audition and rehearses after school on Mondays.

Students in all levels of the Orchestra Program also have the opportunity to take private lessons from either professionals or other high level students. If interested send request to:  J_Vinci@duxbury.k12.ma.us

The Duxbury Middle School Orchestra Program includes two 7th & 8th grade orchestras and 6th grade orchestra class. The Junior Chamber Orchestra is also offered as a co-curricular group. This is open to string students grades 6-8. Acceptance requires an audition in September and the ensemble rehearses on Thursday’s after school.

String students begin the program in the 5th grade at the Alden School with small group instruction (SGI) starting in the fall.
